NSW: Rural areas face flood risk
Residents in parts of New South Wales are bracing themselves for flood waters today,
with eight rivers at risk of breaking their banks.
The state's north-western town of Moree was cut off last night by flood waters.
State Emergency Services personnel were flown into areas in the north and north-west
to conduct sand bagging in areas at risk.
They've also provided aerial food drops to stranded farmers.
The last road out of Moree was closed around 4pm (AEDT) yesterday, leaving only air
access to the 15,000 strong shire.
The town had its first taste of blue skies in two days yesterday but thunderstorms
were again predicted last night.
