Fed:Qantas pilot told passengers another plane was on runway:MP

CANBERRA, Feb 15 AAP - Opposition frontbencher Wayne Swan said he was terrified when
the pilot of a Qantas plane said he was aborting a landing because there was another plane
on the runway.

Airline safety officials are investigating the incident at Brisbane airport on Friday,
but said there was not another plane involved.

But Mr Swan, who was on the flight, said the pilot told passengers there was another plane.

"I was on that flight and it was aborted at the last minute just when we were about
to land and the pilot announced that had occurred because there was a plane on the runway,"

he told the Nine Network.

"I've got to say, I was personally terrified."
