NSW: Second man charged over Guildford drive-by shooting
SYDNEY, Dec 16 AAP - A second man has been arrested and charged over a drive-by shooting
that injured a father and son in Sydney's south-west.
A 50-year-old man and his 20-year-old son were injured in the legs and arms in the
shooting in Guildford in July.
A third man avoided injury by hiding behind a concrete wall.
On December 13, police from Task Force Gain charged a 25-year-old Liverpool man over
the shooting.
And today, a 25-year-old Dover Heights man was charged with two counts of attempted
murder and two counts of discharge of a firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail and was due to appear in Central Local Court today.
Police initially said up to three men had been involved in the shooting and today Detective
Superintendent Mark Henney of Task Force Gain confirmed the investigation was ongoing.
"The arrests occurred after an extensive five-month investigation and further inquiries
into the shootings are continuing," he said in a statement.
Task Force Gain was set up in November in response to an increase in gun crime in south-west
Sydney.
